Polja bele vode
Polly follows the coast south to the salt pans of Sečovlje, where sea water dries into white salt and is raked by hand as it has been for more than seven hundred years.

Polly je letela ob obali proti jugu. Ob majhni reki je bilo kopno ravno. Ob morju je bilo na stotine plitvih bazenov. Vsak bazen se je svetil kot ogledalo. To so Sečoveljske soline. Ljudje tu delajo sol že več kot sedemsto let.
Morska voda priteče v bazene. Vse poletje sonce jemlje vodo. Sol ostane. Polly je stopila v bazen. Voda je bila topla in slana.
Solinarji so po vodi potiskali dolge lesene grablje. Bela sol je naredila majhne kupčke. Delajo z rokami, kot nekoč.
Solinar ji je pokazal dno bazena. Bilo je temno in gladko, kot koža. Blato drži spodaj, zato sol ostane bela.
That's the story.
