空杯子

今天是佩德罗第一天上班。他有一张桌子。他有一台笔记本电脑。大家都去开会了。

It is Pedro's first day. He gets a desk. He gets a laptop. Everyone goes to a meeting.

桌子很干净。上面有一个白色的杯子。他想:也许这是礼物。他口渴了。

The desk is clean. There is one white cup. He thinks: maybe it is a gift. He is thirsty.

佩德罗走进厨房。他往杯子里倒满水。他坐下。一个留胡子的男人站在门口。

Pedro goes to the kitchen. He fills the cup with water. He sits down. A bearded man stands at the door.

"这以前是我的桌子,"他说。他笑了。"我是迭戈。欢迎你。"

"This was my desk before," he says. He smiles. "I am Diego. Welcome."

佩德罗的脸红了。他把杯子还给迭戈。迭戈笑了。"你留着吧,"他说,"不过要问问咖啡机的事。"

Pedro's face turns red. He gives the cup back. Diego laughs. "Keep it," he says. "But ask about the coffee machine."

后来,迭戈带他去看咖啡机。它要花十分钟。

Later, Diego shows him the coffee machine. It takes ten minutes.
