The screen shows thirty-one. The room is full. A man reads a magazine. A father holds a baby. A teenager looks at his phone.

Numery zmieniają się powoli: trzydzieści dwa, trzydzieści trzy, trzydzieści sześć. Nie idą po kolei. Carla czeka.

The numbers change slowly: thirty-two, thirty-three, thirty-six. They do not go in order. Carla waits.

Po godzinie ekran pokazuje czterdzieści siedem. Carla wchodzi. Lekarz patrzy na jej rękę. "To niewielka rana," mówi. "Proszę ją czyścić dwa razy dziennie."
