Carla si pořeže ruku. Doma myje nádobí. Jde na kliniku. Dostane číslo: čtyřicet sedm.

Carla cuts her hand. She washes dishes at home. She goes to the clinic. She gets a number: forty-seven.

Obrazovka ukazuje třicet jedna. Místnost je plná. Muž čte časopis. Otec drží dítě. Teenager se dívá do telefonu.

The screen shows thirty-one. The room is full. A man reads a magazine. A father holds a baby. A teenager looks at his phone.

Čísla se mění pomalu: třicet dva, třicet tři, třicet šest. Nejdou popořadě. Carla čeká.

The numbers change slowly: thirty-two, thirty-three, thirty-six. They do not go in order. Carla waits.

Po hodině obrazovka ukazuje čtyřicet sedm. Carla jde dovnitř. Lékař se dívá na její ruku. "Je to malé," říká. "Čistěte to dvakrát denně."

After one hour, the screen shows forty-seven. Carla goes in. The doctor looks at her hand. "It is small," he says. "Clean it two times a day."

Carla odchází. Místnost je skoro prázdná. Teenager je pryč. Dítě je vzhůru.

Carla leaves. The room is almost empty. The teenager is gone. The baby is awake.
