Dinner Cooked by a Volcano

In the Azores, there is a village called Furnas. The ground there is hot. Steam comes up from holes in the earth. People use this heat to cook.

Na Azorima postoji selo koje se zove Furnas. Zemlja je ondje vruća. Para izlazi iz rupa u zemlji. Ljudi koriste tu toplinu za kuhanje.

A cook fills a big pot. It has meat and vegetables. The cook puts the pot in a hot hole. It cooks for seven hours.

Kuhar puni veliki lonac. U njemu je meso i povrće. Kuhar stavlja lonac u vruću rupu. Kuha se sedam sati.

After many hours, the food is ready. It is soft and full of flavor. People sit at long tables. Steam rises from their plates.

Nakon mnogo sati, jelo je gotovo. Mekano je i puno okusa. Ljudi sjede za dugim stolovima. Para se diže s njihovih tanjura.
