出走的岩石

波莉继续往下走。她看到海里有一块高高的岩石。它孤零零地立着。白色的浪花在它周围碎开。

Polly goes further down. She sees a tall rock in the water. It stands alone. Waves break white around it.

很久以前，那块岩石是悬崖的一部分。后来，海浪把它下面的石头带走了。现在它独自站在海里。它的底部很细。

Long ago that rock was part of the cliff. Then the waves took away the stone under it. Now it stands alone in the sea. It is thin at the bottom.

一只海鸥飞过。这只海鸥不跟着船飞。它不抢人的食物。它自己在海里抓鱼。

A gull flies past. This gull does not follow boats. It does not take food from people. It catches its own fish in the sea.

The gull flies away. Polly looks at the space between the rock and the cliff. That space was stone before.
