الغداء الذي يأكله بلد كامل

الوقت بعد الظهر بقليل. الشارع هادئ الآن. تغلق المحلات مبكرا من أجل الغداء. مطعم صغير واحد ممتلئ بالناس.

It is just after midday. The street is quiet now. Shops close early for lunch. One small restaurant is full of people.

في جمهورية الدومينيكان، الغداء هو الوجبة الكبيرة. الطبق فيه أرز وفول ودجاج وسلطة. يسميه الناس لا بانديرا. هذا يعني العلم.

In the Dominican Republic, lunch is the big meal. The plate has rice, beans, chicken, and salad. People call it la bandera. That means the flag.

التوقيت مهم، وليس الطعام. عند الساعة الثالثة، ينتهي الطعام. كل عندما يأكل الجميع. ثم اشرب قهوة صغيرة وارجع إلى الخارج.

Timing matters, not the food. At three, the food is gone. Eat when everyone eats. Then have a small coffee and go back outside.
