頭の上の崖

ポリーは階段をもっと降ります。そのとき、ふしぎなことに気がつきます。もう空があまり見えません。ポリーは上を見ます。崖が頭の上に出ています。

Polly goes further down the steps. Then she sees something strange. There is not much sky now. She looks up. The cliff hangs out over her head.

海がこれをつくりました。波が崖の下に当たります。波が岩を持っていきます。すると、上の岩の下には何もありません。下には大きな洞窟もあります。

The sea made this. Waves hit the bottom of the cliff. They take the rock away. Then the rock above has nothing under it. There are big caves down there too.

下の岩の上に、暗い緑色の鳥たちがいます。鳥たちは風でつばさをかわかすために、つばさを広げています。

On the rocks below there are dark green birds. They hold their wings open to dry them in the wind.

一羽の鳥が岩から海に落ちます。水はほとんどはねません。ポリーは待ちます。鳥は遠くで上がってきます。魚をくわえています。

One bird falls off the rock into the sea. It makes almost no splash. Polly waits. The bird comes up far away. It has a fish.
