La cámara registró una luminiscencia constante e irregular que emanaba de la piel, más acusada alrededor del rostro. El resplandor es un subproducto incidental de la química celular ordinaria: reacciones que implican la liberación de oxígeno y que, a su paso, liberan partículas aisladas de luz.
Hay una trampa, y explica por qué nadie lo había advertido antes. Esa luz es, aproximadamente, mil veces más tenue que lo más débil que puede registrar un ojo humano. El mismo estudio descubrió que el resplandor sube y baja a lo largo del día, más débil por la mañana y más intenso al final de la tarde, lo cual sugiere que tu rostro sigue un horario propio.
