The Chair by the Fire

The guesthouse stood above the harbour. Its door was on the sheltered side. A sheep kept the house. Polly stood in the hall, wet from the rain. "Do you have any available rooms?"

Penginapan itu berdiri di atas pelabuhan. Pintunya ada di sisi yang terlindung. Seekor domba menjaga rumah itu. Polly berdiri di lorong, basah karena hujan. "Apakah ada kamar yang tersedia?"

There were rooms. Polly said, "I would like a quiet room, please." The sheep waited a moment. The wind finds every room here.

Kamar memang ada. Polly berkata, "Saya ingin kamar yang tenang." Domba itu diam sejenak. Angin menemukan semua kamar di sini.

"Could you assist me with my luggage, please?" The sheep carried the bag up. She put it by a chair. Its frame was driftwood, because no tree grows here. Its back was straw.

"Bisakah Anda membantu saya dengan koper saya?" Domba itu membawa tas ke atas. Ia meletakkannya di dekat sebuah kursi. Rangkanya dari kayu apung, karena tidak ada pohon di sini. Sandarannya dari jerami.

"What time is check-out?" Polly asked. The boat decides everything here. Then she sat in the chair. The straw stopped the cold air.

"Jam berapa waktu check-out?" tanya Polly. Di sini kapal yang menentukan segalanya. Lalu ia duduk di kursi itu. Jerami itu menahan udara dingin.
