문어는 바다에 사는 부드러운 동물이에요. 다리가 여덟 개 있고, 뼈가 없어요. 하지만 가장 놀라운 것은 몸 안에 있어요. 문어는 심장이 하나가 아니라 세 개예요.
심장 두 개는 피를 아가미로 보내요. 거기서 피는 물속의 산소를 받아요. 그다음 세 번째 심장이 이 피를 몸 전체로 보내요. 그래서 문어는 움직일 힘이 생겨요.
문어의 피는 빨간색이 아니라 파란색이에요. 피 안에 구리가 있어서 파란색이에요. 이 특별한 피는 문어가 차갑고 깊은 물에서 살게 도와줘요. 문어가 헤엄칠 때는 큰 심장이 멈춰요. 그래서 문어는 바다 바닥을 걷는 것을 더 좋아해요.
