La pieuvre est un animal mou qui vit dans la mer. Elle a huit bras et pas d'os. Mais la chose la plus surprenante est à l'intérieur de son corps. La pieuvre a trois cœurs, pas un seul.
Deux des cœurs poussent le sang vers les branchies. Là, le sang prend l'oxygène de l'eau. Le troisième cœur envoie ensuite ce sang vers le reste du corps, pour que la pieuvre ait de l'énergie pour bouger.
Le sang d'une pieuvre est bleu, pas rouge. Il est bleu parce qu'il contient du cuivre. Ce sang spécial aide la pieuvre à vivre dans l'eau froide et profonde. Quand la pieuvre nage, son cœur principal s'arrête, alors elle préfère marcher sur le fond de la mer.
