La Città di Pietra Dorata

Polly vola giù nella vecchia città. Strade strette passano tra case basse e bianche.

Polly flew down into the old town. Narrow streets wound between low white houses.

Nel mezzo c'è una grande chiesa. Sembra un castello, con muri alti, una torre alta e merli in cima.

In the middle stood a great church. It looked like a castle, with high walls, a tall tower, and battlements along the top.

È fatta di pietra dorata anche lei. La stessa pietra della grotta vicino al mare ha costruito la chiesa e i mulini a vento. Ora Polly capisce.

It was built from golden stone too. The same stone from the cave by the sea built the church and the windmills. Now Polly understood.

Giù al porto, un pescatore ripara le reti vicino alle barche. Il pesce del mattino brilla nel sole. Polly dice ciao e vola via.

Down at the port, a fisher mended his nets beside the boats. The morning catch shone in the sun. Polly said hello and flew on.
