石は川を下ってきた

青い石は海から来ませんでした。石は川を下ってきました。

The blue stone did not come from the sea. It came down the river.

川は山から石を運びます。だから二人の男の人が川を上って、その場所を探しました。これは千九百七十四年のことです。高い山で、二人は黒い岩を見つけました。黒い岩の中に、青い色がありました。

Rivers carry stones down from the mountains. So two men walked up the river to look for the place. This was in nineteen seventy four. High in the mountains they found dark rock. Inside the dark rock there was blue.

一人の男の人は、ミゲル・メンデスという名前でした。彼の娘は、ラリッサという名前でした。スペイン語で海は「マル」と言います。だから彼は、その石にラリマールという名前をつけました。

One man was called Miguel Méndez. His daughter was called Larissa. The Spanish word for sea is mar. So he gave the stone the name larimar.
