Die Insel entstand unter dem Meer. Dort drücken drei große Erdplatten gegeneinander. Hitze steigt durch Risse im Gestein auf. Jede Insel hier kommt von Feuer und kaltem Gestein.
Fast alle Felder haben eine Hecke aus Hortensien: blau, violett und manchmal rosa. Bauern brachten die Pflanzen vor langer Zeit aus Asien, um Feldgrenzen zu markieren. Der reiche Boden macht die Blüten tiefblau.
Weiter im Landesinneren stiegen grüne Hügel um stille Täler auf. Dünner weißer Dampf stieg irgendwo dazwischen auf. Polly flog in die Höhe, um nachzusehen.
