Le vieil albatros revient avec sa longue-vue. Il dit : tu es restée, petit oiseau. Tu as regardé toute l'histoire. Tu as vu les géants de Nazaré.
Polly regarde une dernière fois depuis le phare. La mer est calme et bleue à nouveau. Près de la plage, une ligne sombre dans l'eau montre le canyon caché. Il se repose, il attend la prochaine tempête.
Puis Polly s'envole dans le matin doré. Elle vole vers le sud, le long de la côte. Le phare rouge devient un petit point derrière elle.
