The Amazon, the Biggest River

The Amazon is a great river in South America. It is the biggest river in the world by the amount of water. It carries more water than many other large rivers all together.

Ο Αμαζόνιος είναι ένα μεγάλο ποτάμι στη Νότια Αμερική. Είναι το μεγαλύτερο ποτάμι στον κόσμο σε ποσότητα νερού. Έχει περισσότερο νερό από πολλά άλλα μεγάλα ποτάμια μαζί.

The river starts high in the mountains and flows to the sea. On the way, it passes through nine countries. Around the river there is a huge green forest, full of trees, birds, fish, and many other animals.

Το ποτάμι ξεκινά ψηλά στα βουνά και πηγαίνει στη θάλασσα. Στον δρόμο του, περνάει από εννέα χώρες. Γύρω από το ποτάμι υπάρχει ένα τεράστιο πράσινο δάσος, γεμάτο δέντρα, πουλιά, ψάρια, και πολλά άλλα ζώα.

The Amazon is very important for our planet. The big forest gives clean air to the world and is home to millions of plants and animals. Many people also live near the river. They use its water every day to drink, to cook, and to travel by boat.

Ο Αμαζόνιος είναι πολύ σημαντικός για τον πλανήτη μας. Το μεγάλο δάσος δίνει καθαρό αέρα στον κόσμο και είναι σπίτι για εκατομμύρια φυτά και ζώα. Πολλοί άνθρωποι ζουν επίσης κοντά στο ποτάμι. Χρησιμοποιούν το νερό του κάθε μέρα, για να πιουν, να μαγειρέψουν, και να ταξιδέψουν με βάρκα.
