Un homme ouvre son magasin dans une petite ville de Cornouailles, dans le sud-ouest de l'Angleterre, tôt le matin. Il regarde dans la rue et voit un animal qui vient vers lui. Au début, il pense que c'est un chien. Ce n'est pas un chien. C'est un wallaby.
Un wallaby est un petit kangourou. Il vient d'Australie. Il ne vit pas à l'état sauvage en Angleterre. L'homme le filme avec son téléphone, et la vidéo fait le tour du monde en un jour.
La police arrive. L'association pour les animaux arrive aussi. Personne ne peut l'attraper. Depuis, des gens l'ont revu, dans des jardins, près d'un terrain d'école, sur les routes la nuit. Et voici la partie étrange : aucun zoo et aucune ferme ne dit qu'il manque un animal. Alors personne ne sait d'où vient ce wallaby. Pour l'instant, il est toujours là-bas, il mange l'herbe anglaise, très loin de chez lui.
