Hunters of the Sky

Polly climbed to the very edge of the mountain. Below her, the rock fell straight down into the sea, and the waves looked tiny from so high up.

Polly subió hasta el mismo borde de la montaña. Debajo de ella, la roca caía en vertical hasta el mar, y las olas parecían diminutas desde tan alto.

The warm morning air rose up along the face of the cliff. Polly opened her wings, and the rising wind lifted her without any effort at all.

El aire cálido de la mañana subía por la pared del acantilado. Polly abrió las alas, y el viento que subía la levantó sin ningún esfuerzo.

A great eagle appeared and floated beside her. It had a white belly, and it did not flap its wings even once. It simply rode the wind along the wall of rock, calm and sure.

Una gran águila apareció y flotó a su lado. Tenía el vientre blanco y no batió las alas ni una sola vez. Simplemente cabalgaba el viento a lo largo de la pared de roca, tranquila y segura.

Suddenly a falcon dived past her, as fast as a falling stone. Polly laughed out loud and let the warm wind carry her even higher into the sky.

De pronto un halcón pasó en picado junto a ella, rápido como una piedra que cae. Polly se rio a carcajadas y dejó que el viento cálido la llevara aún más alto en el cielo.
