Secrets of the Tomb

The air inside the tomb was cool and smelled old. It was very different from the hot desert outside. Polly sat on Amir's shoulder. They moved carefully through the narrow path. A lantern lit their way with its flickering light. The walls had pictures and symbols. They told stories of old kings and gods. Polly was amazed by the beautiful art. She felt like she was walking through history. "Look, Polly," Amir whispered. He pointed to a room ahead. It glowed with a strange light. "That must be where the treasure is." They entered the room and were amazed. It was full of gold, statues, and jewelry. Everything sparkled in the lantern's light. But then they heard a low rumble. Stones were moving in a scary way. Polly's heart beat fast. "The tomb is not safe!" Amir shouted. He grabbed a golden stick as a memory. "We must leave now!" They ran back through the path quickly. The treasures stayed in the tomb. They showed a great civilization from long ago. When they reached the desert, Polly understood something. The real treasure was the adventure and what they learned.

Die Luft im Grabmal war kühl und roch alt. Sie war ganz anders als die heiße Wüste draußen. Polly saß auf Amirs Schulter. Sie bewegten sich vorsichtig durch den engen Pfad. Er leuchtete in einem seltsamen Licht. "Dort muss der Schatz sein." Sie betraten den Raum und waren erstaunt. Er war voller Gold, Statuen und Schmuck. Alles funkelte im Licht der Laterne. Doch dann hörten sie ein tiefes Grollen. Steine bewegten sich auf beängstigende Weise. Pollys Herz schlug schnell. "Das Grabmal ist nicht sicher!" rief Amir. Er griff nach einem goldenen Stab als Andenken. "Wir müssen jetzt gehen!" Sie rannten schnell zurück durch den Pfad. Die Schätze blieben im Grabmal. Sie zeigten eine großartige Zivilisation von vor langer Zeit. Als sie die Wüste erreichten, verstand Polly etwas. Der wahre Schatz war das Abenteuer und das, was sie gelernt hatten.
